Fire Extinguishers

All vehicles carrying any quantity of dangerous goods, other than dangerous goods packed as Limited Quantities, must carry a minimum of 1 two kilo fire extinguisher. If the vehicle is carrying a dangerous goods load, i.e. greater than that allowed under the small load concessions, zero kilo TC 0, 25 kilo TC 1, 333 kilo TC 2 and 1,000 kilo TC 3, then the quantity of fire extinguishers depends on the size of the vehicle: less than 3.5 tonne, 2 x 2 kilo; 3.5 tonne to 7.5 tonne, 1 x 2 kilo and 1 x 6 kilo; and for vehicles greater than 7.5 tonne, then a total of 12 kilo - of which one shall be at least 6 kilo. Note these quantities are the minimum requirements.
